The cupcake has become a very fashionable desert in the last couple of years. They are no longer relegated to children’s parties, but are now substituted for full-fledged wedding cakes. The flexibility of this desert continues to be tapped into, and this idea is the latest and greatest in my humble opinion. What will be next is a mystery, but one I look forward to with great anticipation, and watering mouth. Turn a regular sized cupcake into a shortcake surprise in a jiffy. In fact, once you see the final results you will not be able to believe what little effort it took to turn this little gem from a plain Jane cupcake into a smashing visual and delicious delight. Cut the cake into three layers, then insert a heaping spoonful of whipped cream in between each of them. Once you have the whole thing reassembled, place berries on the top and sprinkle with sugar. Just describing it has made me crave one.
