Anybody can layout a cheese plate, or tray, but you can make it special by adding an unexpected thing or two. Here is one quick, and simple way to dazzle your guests, and leave them thinking you are a thoughtful host or hostess.

Ingredients

3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

2 cups whole blanched almonds

2 tablespoons fresh thyme

Salt to taste

Ground pepper to taste

Directions

Over medium heat heat oil in a large skillet. Stir in almonds, and cook, until lightly golden and smell wonderful.

Drop in thyme leaves and take off the heat. Add salt and pepper. Smooth out and separate on flat heat proof surface and let cool.
